of course ranting is okay!!!!! I think it’s very okay to not use a label or come out as whatever because of the potential hate. I don’t think that’s enforcing panphobia. you’re not saying or believing those things, you just don’t want to deal with others saying those things, and that’s okay. people, when navigating coming out, take into consideration those they’re coming out to and how they might potentially react. and if they don’t feel those people will react in a way they want them to or are up to dealing with, they might not come out, or they’ll use umbrella terms or different labels to avoid having to explain/defend/justify their personal labels.
do whatever makes you feel comfy and safe. if the idea of telling people you’re pan causes you anxiety because of how they might react and potentially having to justify it, then you don’t have to. it doesn’t fall on individual pan people to end panphobia by screaming they’re pan from rooftops. your identity is your business, your labels are your business, how/when/if you come out is your business, you don’t owe anyone anything, you’re not obligated to use your coming out or announcing your identity online/otherwise as an opportunity to fight panphobia.
I hope this makes you feel better about this, just live your life and go about however feels right, and know that you aren’t doing anything wrong.
